VIDEO: Dan La Botz on Austerity and Resistance

On Saturday, June 30, the Boston branch of Solidarity sponsored an event “Austerity and Resistance: New England Crisis School 2012″ at the Democracy Center.  30 people attended the event, featuring Dan La Botz, a labor union activist, journalist, and author of a number of books including A Troublemaker’s Handbook: How to Fight Back Where You Work and Win (1991, Labor Notes).

The discussion ranged from the nature of austerity measures and how they are rationalized within the framework of capitalism. Watch the video below to see Dan La Botz talk about the various groups who have suffered in austerity-ridden nations, and what it will take to roll those measures back.
