I called the Boston Police to alert them to our twitter hijack: tweets sent directly from the @Occupy_Boston account to the @Boston_Police account were sent by an unauthorized user.  The officer or dispatcher on the phone said frantically at the beginning of the call: “We’re not doing it! We’re not doing it! We’re not doing it!” referring, of course, to tonight’s expected midnight shutdown.

At the end of the conversation the same officer or dispatcher said: “Do you have access to the website?  Could you announce to everyone that it’s all a lie?”

If the Boston Police Department raids the camp, then the police, whether it be this officer or his superiors, have lied to us directly. If the Boston Police Department does not shut us down tonight, then we know they’re credible.  As of this posting, this “it’s all a lie” message has not been announced to either site.

EDIT: As of right now, 12:10 there are riot police approaching the square to shut down the Occupation.

It appears the Boston Police Department may have lied to the public.
