On January 20 and 21, the Citizens United Working Group of Occupy Boston and a wide coalition of activists gathered to discuss the ramifications of the Citizens United Supreme Court decision. Over 70 people came on Saturday to Suffolk University to listen to speakers such as Harvard Professor Lawrence Lessig, activist Grace Ross, and Boston University Professor Jules Levine (who is also running for Barney Frank’s soon-to-be-vacant seat in Massachusetts’ fourth congressional district) explain the history of corporate influence in politics and develop grassroots strategies to combat it and restore democracy.
