Sketches of Dewey

The sketches you see below were sent into [email protected] by Ryan Maguire, an Illustration faculty at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.  Ryan writes:

“The drawings were an exercise in using illustration as a vehicle to raise awareness of social issues. The drawings, neither pro or con of the movement, were intended to create visual interest in the event and inspire people to learn more about the situation happening at Dewey Square, and across the nation. Knowing that it was temporary environment, from an artist/teacher point of view, it was invaluable to document the event through drawing as illustrations allow the viewer a different experience in interpretation and imagination versus traditional photography/video coverage.”

We sincerely appreciate Ryan’s contribution and hope you will, too.
