Nearly one thousand people gathered in Boston’s Financial District on the evening of December 8th/morning of December 9th to protect the Occupy Boston encampment, which has called Dewey Square its home since September 30, 2011. Despite a warning from Boston Mayor Thomas Menino that the occupiers would have until midnight to vacate their strip of land of the Rose-Kennedy Greenway, the police presence was minimal, only two people were arrested (for refusing to move out of the street) and the camp was not evicted (for the time being).
