Occupy Boston held a rally and march on Tuesday, March 20, to show solidarity with women at Occupy Wall Street who have been victims of police abuse.  Several spoke of Cecily McMillan, a protester at Occupy Wall Street who suffered a seizure after being handcuffed and left in the street next to Zuccotti Park.

Although the event remained relatively small – drawing about 50 people to the Federal Reserve – and peaceful, Boston police were antagonistic towards the crowd. Two arrests were made after two protesters climbed on top of a sculpture north of Dewey Square on the Rose-Kennedy Greenway. The officers did not read the protesters their rights or what their charges were.

After the arrests, police threatened the remaining crowd with arrest, without explanation of what the offenses would be. Later in the evening, police followed a group from the march to the bar Biddy Early’s, waiting for them outside in what appeared to be a direct attempt to provoke the occupiers.
