ALLSTON, MA—On Saturday October 13, 2012 a panel discussion took place at the Palestine Cultural Center for Peace in Allston, Massachusetts. At issue was a lobbying group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)—whose members were meeting in downtown Boston that same weekend— the US government and its foreign policy in the Middle East.
The speakers included Jamal Abdi, the policy director for the National Iranian American Council, Stephen Walt, a professor at Harvard University and co-author of The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, Denise Provost, the Democratic State Representative for the 27th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and Kristin Szremski, the director of media and communications for the American Muslims for Palestine. The organizers held a three day event which included a day of defiance on Monday, October 15 during AIPAC donor’s summit at the Boston Seaport Hotel.
