Working Group Updates:
Union/Labor
- SEIU Local 615 is the latest union to verbalize support. Members of outreach attended a meeting at their headquarters tonight and received overwhelming support. Many of the local’s members work cleaning bank buildings and offices. They will not be wearing pins while on the job that say “We are the 99%.”
- They have also offered printing of materials any time we need them. Their office is close to Dewey Square so Occupy Boston can call anytime copies are needed.
Neighborhoods
- Canvassing materials are being brainstormed and developed.
- Specific hot spots have been identified and there will be a mass canvass some time this weekend. More to come.
Community Organizations
- Has begun to put together a database of organizations in the city of Boston.
- Will begin cold calling to build coalitions very soon.
Campuses/Universities
- Has begun connecting various schools together in the Boston area. More to come.
