Today, Friday, October 7th, a class of 16 students from Carroll School in Lincoln, accompanied by five faculty members, will be stopping by to observe Occupy Boston’s encampment. This 9th grade Humanities class is currently studying Henry David Thoreau’s Civil Disobedience, and are looking forward to finding current-day instances of civil disobedience in action — namely, Occupy Boston.
The class will experience in history in the making. While in the encampment, they will be interviewing occupiers, taking photographs, and learning through direct participation. They have many questions and are eager to know what we are doing and why we are doing it. Please feel free to share with them your ideas and be sure to make them feel welcome!
Many thanks to their teacher Kurt Moellering for facilitating such an eye-opening field trip for his students!
